Trudeau and Terrorism

A reporter once asked Trudeau how far he would go in defending his homeland from terrorism. This uber-unilateralist replied, "Just Watch Me."

Trudeau never followed public opinion and happily gave the finger to crowds of protestors. He followed his instincts on what was right to do.

George Bush has obviously learned from Trudeau's experience. George Bush is more Canadian than Chretien.

If anything we need right now, we need the middle-eastern equivalent of Rene Levesque. Peace.

Trudeau was quite anti-american, no? I do think that he stood up for what he thought was right...

No codco, I don't believe Trudeau was anti-American; he was pro- Canada and believed in this country. He didn't make his decisions by worrying about what the Americans wanted.
We need more leaders who do what is best for Canada. We will get no respect from the USA unless our leaders
make all decisions to satisfy Canadians.
Canadians should have more pride in ou own country and stop being American wannabees.

I don't think Trudeau was reflexively anti-American - he wasn't a stupid man.

Your conclusions are not valid.
Mr Tudeau was referring to internal terrorism which he stood up to staunchly despit threats to his own family.
Mr. Bush could have followed his lead and concentrated more on internal terrorism. The terrorists that attacked the World Trade Building were for the most part legally in the USA;Many of the terrorists were trained to fly the planes in the USA.
They were allowed to board the planes with weapons in the USA,
The Americans liked to insinuate that the terrorists probably entered through Canad but that was not the case.
Mr. Trudeau did not consider attacking another country while it was disarming.
Mr Tudeau was intelligent enough to realize that would cause more anger and problems.
It is an insult comparing a man like Pierre Trudeau to George Bush.
