The present understanding of globalization by those who matter is a form of neo-colonialism, with multinational corporations (mostly US based) as imperial power and the rest of us as colonies. Canada should promote fair trade. Fair trade happens when there is a fair exchange value for value. The World Trade Organization in its negotiations for trade agreements results in rules that help large corporations at the expense of poor countries and poor people in general.
