Which values and interests bear most fundamentally on Canada's foreign policy? How can Canada's foreign policy better reflect the concerns and priorities of Canadians?

Answer:
The most important Canadian Value is CHOICE for INDIVIDUALS and the objectives of our foreign policy should reflect this.

Choice brings the responsibility of respecting other individual choices whether they be religious, economic, political or in the arena of foreign policy.

Freedom of choice is best protected by a rule of law that recognizes both rights and responsibilities while ensuring the powerful do not usurp the choices of those with less means. Not only should Canada work towards promoting these values but our institutions must be models of adherence to such values.

Choice also implies, in addition, acceptance and tolerance of diversity, other paths, other versions of the turth.
