Question 10: Values and Culture

Are values such as human rights, democracy, respect for diversity and gender equality ones that Canada should continue to advocate in all parts of the world? If so, what are the best ways of doing this?

Answer:
Let us begin to practice what we preach. How can a media service which is controlled by the wealthy be considered to represent anything other than Plutocracy(the rule of the wealthy)? Let us begin by making changes to our own corporately manipulated media which as Noam Chomsky states "only gives the impression of freedom of speech"... when in actuality its purpose is to "manufacture consent".
That is... consent to spend needlessly on pharmaceutical cures which increase pharmaceutical profits... Or the consent to terrorize the terrorists which we initially trained and armed thus increasing profits to weapons manufacturing cartels ... Or the consent to bring in a 'free trade' deal which is really a 'free ride' for business to set up shop where wages, health, and environmental safety standuards are less.
Before changes to our media ownership and broadcasting policies are set forth to prevent such manipulation and control... then all this other talk is intellectual horse manure!
